The Isle of Mull and a problem with my 'Dongle'!

Hello Fans!

This post is just to let you know that I am unable to post any cards for the next couple of weeks. Hubby and I, along with our 'girls'! are up in the Scottish Highlands staying on the Isle of Mull .

This island is beautiful, wonderful and glorious but the phone signals, where we are, are naff!

I have a few cards to post and my last post to edit but my 'dongle' is driving me nuts 'cos the signal is so low and data transfer is SLOW or CRASH!

I cannot access FB or my email so it's just like the old days!

I have decided to put all my energies into having a good time by walking, reading, watching wildlife ( hubby is on a boat as I write this, taking photos of Sea Eagles! ) making cards and eating chocolate! I will post my cards 'wot I 'ave made' when I arrive home.

Ken is keeping up to date with Daisy's Diary by going into Tobermory each evening but it is taking hours if he wants to post text AND pictures !

Please don't forget me :(

I have some super stuff to show you (modest is my middle name!)

Pat ... I have received your email and I will answer it as soon as I get home.
Thank you for following my blog and also for the kind comments X :)

See you all soon.

Ps The local 'Chocolate Shop' has free internet connection and that is where we are at the moment !

Drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows and yummy cake ...the WEP connection is great so we will be back !!!

Lavinia Poppy Stamps, A Brayer and A Shapeabilities Butterfly

Lovely Lavinia Stamps

Hello, a lovely day today with the weekend to follow.

My best crafty mate, Karen, is coming over to spend the day with me tomorrow, great stuff.... we will gossip, eat a nice lunch ( I hope) and make cards....... bliss!

Thank you for all the lovely comments that were left on my previous post.... I was surprised at the interest shown in the card and very pleased as I also picked up some new followers !
Holes made with a Crop A Dile Big Bite!

Now, as you are aware, that card was all White! This one is a bit more colourful, this is how I made it .

I blended a background using my Speedball Brayer and two Adirondack Inks, Red Pepper and Sunshine Yellow.

Stamped the Poppies, two different stamp sets, both from Lavinia Stamps with Black Versafine Ink then using my 'Big-Bite' I made a few holes in the background paper and layered it over Gold Card so you can see the Gold underneath ( great trick, I use this a lot ....cos it's cheap but attractive!)
Inside of the card decorated to match the front

Mat and layer on Red and finally a Black Card Blank ... add a few Spellbinders Shapeabilities Butterflies, along with a sweet wooden Ladybird from my stash .... job done.

I also decorated the inside to match the front of the card.

Thanks for popping by my blog today .. any questions please leave a comment or email  eileen@ken-godwin.com
My favourite Dies!

Have a great weekend.

Ooooooooooo........ my order from LOTV..... New Christmas Stamps have just arrived !

LOTV Colouring Master Class Day

My first effort at the class
Hi ya,

Blogger is still showing off, so I am 'nipping' on while I can, to see if I can post today or wot!

A couple of weeks ago, Karen and I trolled down to Ashford in Kent, all excited 'cos we were going on a LOTV Colouring Master Class Day course using Copics and Promarkers.

Great Hotel and easy to find.

We received a warm and very friendly welcome from the LOTV team and over coffee or tea and biscuits, we were invited to peruse the goodies the team had brought with them for us to buy at VERY good prices if we wanted to!

Huh! don't be daft, OF COURSE we wanted to buy and I enjoyed shopping without spending too much ;) (Hubby maybe reading this ....nudge, nudge....wink wink.... know wot I mean 'arry!)

Bev  and Jacqui were our tutors for the day and we learnt a lot from these very talented ladies.

The images I am posting here were the projects we coloured on the day.

The pace of our 'lessons' was slow enough at the beginning until our confidence grew and we felt more comfortable, then the pace increased.

We were given a goody bag and a new project, complete with everything we needed, including some pretty flowers to take home with us .... there was also a free raffle with lots of prizes, both Karen and I won a prize.
2nd Lesson

Coloured this image at home.
We had  lunch and chatted to our fellow students who I found to be very friendly and I have stayed in touch with a few of them.

We also received tuition and help while using Prismacolour / Polychromos Pencils .... these make a huge difference to the shading and dimension of your image.  Karen and I had a great time and came away with brand new skills. Many thanks to Bev, Jacqui and the LOTV team.:)

Some happy ladies!

Our table, Janis, me, Tara and Carolyn.
Jacqui and a Prismacolour  Pencils demo

I plan to make cards using the images I have shown you as soon as I can and I will post the completed cards

Thanks for visiting my blog today, please get in touch if you have any questions, eileen@ken-godwin.com have a great day.

"You shall have a fishy........when the boat comes in"

My fish is coloured using Coloursoft Pencils.
Hello, just a few words today about how I am getting on regarding both of the colouring courses that I have attempted.

First some details about the My Creative Classroom. online course that I am still in the middle of!

Tomorrow (or Friday) I will post some pictures and information about the Copic colouring course that Karen and I attended last Sunday with LOTV Stamps

My tutor for the MCC online course is Glenda Waterworth from Chocolate Baroque

I am really enjoying this course and it's super value for money .... (about £18)

Each week, for the last five weeks, there have been detailed lessons in PDF format to download along with some digital images to practice on using all the different colouring mediums the course covers and lots of on-line videos to help us along.

Glenda is a super teacher and shows how to get great results using loads of different mediums, including, Dye Based and Distressed Inks, Coloured Pencils, Water Colouring Pencils and Paints etc and some Copic examples.
More than enough to keep me out of trouble for months!

My confidence has soared, my colouring is not perfect but it's much better than it was!

Glenda provides constant feedback on our 'effort's and is very encouraging and helpful .

Each set of 'lessons' is very detailed with a  'how to'  for each project.

My fish, pictured above, is a digital image and it is coloured with ordinary colouring pencils.

We were shown how to blend and build up the colours to make the fish 'round, fat, and shiny'!

I reckon he looks okay but other projects like my spheres were not so easy and I uttered a few naughty words now and again!

Glenda came back with a few pointers regarding the shadows underneath them and I need a bit more practice to sort them out.

Huh! these were hard work !

My morning Glory was another download and I feel okay about the flowers but more work is necessary on the leaves ....they look too flat to me ...Check out Gina's Blog, she is a  fellow student, Gina has coloured a  beautiful Morning Glory  !

I went on holiday for two weeks and I have lots of 'homework' still to do so I will post again when I have finished.

I hope this is of some interest to you. It feels very strange 'learning' how to 'colour in ' after all these years away from school/college but I suppose the old adage' you are NEVER too old to learn' is very true!

I am shouting out tonight for Jacki ..... please check out her blogs ( she has two!) This one is for her tutorials .... great stuff.

Finally .... I have a question... can you re post an earlier post ? If so how do you do it please ....

Thanks for popping by .... @ Vicki, a letter is on it's way to you :)
Have a good week everyone

My Brayer, a Lavinia Stamp, a Clarity Stamp plus some Nestabilities Shapes.

Lavinia Stamp on a brayered background  along with a sentiment  by Clarity Stamps
Another Lavinia Stamp with a Nestabilities Diamond.
Hiya... just a quick post today.

As I mentioned in my last post I am attempting an on-line colouring course with My Creative Classroom.

My tutor is the super talented Glenda from Chocolate Baroque.

I am loving it and although I have been Stamping for a few years now, I am still learning loads and enjoying the whole experience.

I have a lot of 'home work' to do so my posts for a few days will be short and sweet !

I have used two Nestabilites Dies for these cards.

A Circle that I have cut twice to get the 'Cresent' shape and a Diamond.

Both die cuts are mounted onto the card with sticky pads to give a bit of dimension.
Plonk a bit of glitter and liquid pearls on and 'Bob's your uncle'!
Quick, easy and simple ! I will post again soon.

Have a great bank holiday and thanks for dropping by my blog.
