Craft - a - thon to raise funds for The Demelza House Childrens Hospice

Hello everyone... the picture posted above showcases the happy faces of the ladies that attended our 'Craft a thon' on Saturday. We were making cards for 12 hours, to raise funds for The Demelza House Children's Hospice, Sittingbourne Kent.

Fish 'n Chips Lunch

There were many other ladies that could not attend but supported the event, that we all enjoyed, by donating cards, crafty stash and CASH!
Sweet Poppy Stencils, Lavinia Stamps and Oyster Stamps, kindly donated products that we used as prizes for our raffle!  A huge thank you.
The Millennium Fish and Chip Bar in Allhallows village suppiled our delicious lunch, allowing a very generous discount on the price! Thank you.

We had competitions, a lucky dip and a FANTASTIC TIME!

Look at the cards we made on the day! You are all stars ladies.
Plus, everyone very generously spent loads of money on raffle tickets!
The cards and cash will be donated to Demelza House, who will sell the cards in their on-site shop.
Finally.. Val White, thank you for organising it all.
We cannot wait until next year to enjoy another one.
BTW... my two small doggies came along with me!

Daisy and Holly.

Andy Skinner Retro Clock - Kroma Crackle and Inka Gold Paints.

Hi Ho Bloggers. Last Saturday I went along to the Allhallows Crop with my crafty mates.
If you live near Rochester Kent we always love to see new members!

We sat around, chatted, ate cakes and other naughty stuff and spent the day crafting.... Bliss.
The Clock I'm sharing with you today is the project I started to work on, finally finishing it on Sunday afternoon.

I was given the Clock kit some months back as a gift, so not sure where to buy it.
Its called The Retro Clock by Andy Skinner. Its a large Clock.
Two coats of Black Gesso, painted on with sponge brushes and covering all the parts well, before applying some PVA Glue followed by the Kroma Crackle ( the pva glue makes the crackle stuff work faster ) and then, after drying with a heat gun I watched the crackles appear!

I applied my Inka Gold Paints using sponge brushes and added touches of Treasure Gold gilding wax here and there. ... job done.

My friend, Karen Clarehosts workshops locally and her classes include this clock but using different materials... stunning stuff, pop over and have a look at her blog HERE.
Back soon. Lots more to share with you this week ... tick tock!
Thank you for looking today.

Sweet Poppy Stencils - MDF Tissues Box.

Morning all.. this MDF Box for tissues was so easy to do.
Two coats of Black Gesso, let it dry.

Then I attached the Sweet Poppy Stencils (one side of the box at a time, allowing plenty of drying time!) Tape the stencil down well with lo tac masking tape and apply White Dimensional Paste through the stencil. Remove the stencil, be sure to wash it and don't touch the image for a few hours! Repeat until all four sides and the top are  completed.

I messed up two of these images... so I quickly removed the white paste and reapplied a thin coat of Black Gesso to hide the evidence! Then tried again, this time, Rock'n roll... never give up!

Back tomorrow. I'm going to be a busy little blogger this week.
Thanks for looking and for all the very kind comments and emails.

Hi ho Bloggers,
Last Sunday my Art Journal ladies and me, gathered in the Allhallows Village Hall for the Art journal Class... but... shock, horror ... 'Mr. Lets Do The Flu' had got to the party earlier and some ladies were missing!

We still had a great time and sent healing thoughts to those that could not be with us ... we scoffed all the cake too!

Super work from very talented ladies and the end of a fantastic crafty week or two for me ... loved it all.
Back soon ... there's more!
Thank you for looking at my Blog today.

Yummy cake created by Barbara Cleggett.. Thank you Barbara x
Now... I'm sure you've  noticed how 'stern' my ladies look in the pictures.. well, this is because I promised them a slice of cake and  'dip' in my bag of fruit gums if they 'got on with it' and stopped all the messing around and laughing... it's called ....Tough Crafting !
Mmm... they didn't take much notice of me though... after the pictures were taken, the noise was worse than a F1 race day!
Back soon with a Journal Page or two from the Art Journal Class!
