Yo! Crafty Friends
Here is the requested Tutorial and list of materials
I've used, as promised, regarding the above cards.
The Base Card ( the image of the die is cut into the front of this) Overall dimensions 11cms x 14.5 cms and is
White Linen card stock from PapermillDirect.
The Distress inks were blended, using blending tools, onto the Lavinia Stamps new Multifarious White Card
flipping BRILLIANT for blending!
The card 'topper' size is 10 x 14 cms
Just slightly smaller than the base card.
Squeezed Lemonade DI blended right in the middle
Peacock DI blended all the way around the outside.
Aim for a deep colour and blend towards the yellow
but avoid the middle.
Blend Picked Raspberry over the top of the blue
and don't worry if you get a few lines.
The next step with your Stencil will get rid of those.
Blend towards the middle using LOTS of ink
but again, avoid the yellow core!
( blend a small amount of Chipped Sapphire DI
around the edges to darken a little if you want)
Take a Mini Mister and a stencil ( this is an Andy Skinner Stencil )
The other Stencil I've used is from
Memory Box called Radio Waves.
Mist some water onto your mat, lay the stencil in the water and Mist some more water from the spray, onto the top of the stencil.
Lay the wet Stencil down on top of the
inked card and gently cover and press down
with some kitchen towel.
You are aiming for a 'water bleached' look
and, to be fair, first time, you may over do
the water or not add enough.
This part may need a bit of practice (sic) until you get the
look you want and a 'feel' for the technique.
But hey! Ink up again, its only a bit of card!
Dry your Art Work with a heat gun before Stamping.
I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, the Lavinia Stamps
Spellbound Fairy on one card and
Seeing is Believing Fairy on the other.
After Cutting the Woodland Oval image into my
White Linen Card base it was bring on the Glue!
Glue your stamped Image inside the card base
behind the Die Cut Shape
Finally ... I lined all of the inside of the base card
with pretty papers to match the colours
I've used for my main image on the front.
I also stamped a few Lavinia Stamps Stars !
Hope all this is easy to follow
please ask if you have questions
