Gelatos,Gesso and a PaperArtsy Stamp

Me again Bloggers!
Another Journal page that I created
whilst at my Workshop, last Sunday.
This page was painted first with Gesso.
When that was dry, I added a layer of
White acrylic paint.
After making sure the paint base was dry
I applied various colours of
Gelatos stick paints over the top,
added some water and allowed the colours to drip.
My friend, Chris Hearn had nicer 'drips' than the rest of us.
Chris reckoned we were all suffering from
 Drip Envy!
More drying then Distress inks applied through a Tim Holtz Stencil.
The main stamped images are
from PaperArtsy
Thanks for popping over to my Blog.
Enjoy your day

Designs By Ryn Water Droplet Stamps and PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Paints

Morning Bloggers and followers.
I had a fun time at my Art Journal Class last Sunday.
This page, in my small journal, was created using
 PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk paints

I 'scraped on' various colours of the transparent shades, from the Fresco range, using a small credit card size, piece of plastic, then added a few dabs of their white opaque paint
 and scraped that about too!

Lovely medium to work with.
Thank you for the super comments on my post yesterday.

I'll be back tomorrow with another page from my Journal.
Thanks for popping over to look at my Blog today.

January 2014 Workshop Sample #3

Afternoon Bloggers and followers.
This is the third and final sample
for my first Workshop of 2014.
Saturday 11th January. Rochester Kent.
I've really enjoyed making all the samples
and cannot wait to see my crafty friends.
Plus scoff the cake Barbara Cleggett
has made for us!

......
Update on the technique used for this card.
Blend two colours of Distress ink, through a stencil image, that has been placed down onto some Centura Pearl card stock (reverse, white side) using some cut 'n dry foam.
Stamp your image over the top, with one of the distress colours you have already chosen to use on the stencil, so you achieve this 'tone on tone' look.
Stamp a few flower images onto some spare white card stock with Black Archival or Versafine Black Onyx ink and colour your images with more Distress inks.. cut them out and plonk 'em on!
Ta dah!

January 2014 Workshop # 2

Hi ho Bloggers and followers.
This is my second sample
for my first Workshop of 2014.
Saturday 11th January. Rochester Kent.
This card sample showcases a fabulous stamp from
I'll update all my sample posts with details
regarding the techniques I used, on Monday 13th.
Back tomorrow with the last sample.
.......
Update on the technique used for this card.
The Clematis Tower Stamp from Oak House Studios
was stamped onto the reverse, white side, of some Centura Pearl card stock with Black Archival Ink.
I painted the flowers with Masking Fluid ( use an OLD paint brush!) then left it to dry for an hour or two before blending distress inks over the top. I dabbed the background here and there with a baby wipe, to remove some of the inks for added texture.
When the colours are dry, rub off the masking fluid, using your finger, from the flower heads, to reveal the white card stock underneath. More Flower were stamped onto plain, white card then cut out and layered on top.
Simple!
